Each of us sometimes can be in a situation when help is needed. It is important to know that we are not alone. Help Zone at the UHK offers information, support, sources, and contacts that help to overcome difficult times.
Acute crisis
An acute crisis is a stressful situation that is so severe and extraordinary that it is not possible to cope with it without help. If you are going through such a crisis, you do not have to be alone. Make use of our help in the form of reviewed information, guidelines, and professional contacts. In case of a crisis, it is always the right thing to contact professional services. These sources will help you to cope with the situation as quickly as possible.
I have mental health challenges
Each of us may face some mental discomfort, it is nothing unusual. It can be expressed by stress, anxiety, depression, overall loss of balance or some other, sometimes even less understandable states. If you feel overwhelmed, it is important to know that you are not alone. The UHK offers a large range of support ranging from study or psychological counselling to therapeutic consultations that might help you to orientate in a distressing situation.
I have special needs
At the University of Hradec Králové we make education accessible for everybody. In cooperation with the Augustin centre we focus on balancing conditions not only during studies. Our aim is to make the admission process and the studies available for all students. We give support to students with visual or hearing impairment, with learning disorders, autism spectrum disorders, mental illness, or chronical somatic illness. We create a safe and inclusive environment removing barriers both in physical and online space.
I don´t feel safe
The UK´s priority is to create a safe space and equal conditions for all people in the academic community without discrimination. The basic pillars of our university policy are tolerance and respect towards other students and staff.
I have study problems
The Study Department keeps the students´ register that serves for registering students and for budget and statistical purposes. It is in charge of counselling and providing information with regards to studies. It issues confirmation of studies, recognized credits and exams and graduation documents. It keeps a record of study applicants and provides information about the admission process.
